In Honor of Those We Lost September 11, 2001

I don’t normally do tribute posts, and to be honest, I wasn’t planning on doing one for the 10th Anniversary of 9/11. That is a day that impacted each and every one of us in some way, and I know that we each honor and remember those we lost in our own ways.

But something changed this morning when I woke up. I heard this song on the radio and I could *not* stop crying. I know versions of this have been around for the last few years; the first focused on the little girl as a 5 year old and was remixed again a few years later. Now, in honor of the 10th Anniversary of that horrific day, it has been updated to reflect her thoughts as a 15 year old.

I am not a parent, but I am someone’s daughter, and I know every one of us can relate to the young girl in this story.

Some things are more important than the latest fashions or designs.

Remembering is one of those things.

I hope you love this as much as I do (a word of advice – have tissues handy!):

sniff. damn I forgot my tissues.
September 11th was such a horrible tragedy. Years on it still evokes the same kind of unbelievable shock and sadness it did on the day itself.Nice little tribute b x

September 11 is going to high school and then I was watching the news on television economics.

Was struck by the news of the last minute. Today we must never forget. Against terrorism, we always have to be upright and strong.

Wow, I couldn’t even finish this. Saddest thing ever… it makes me grateful to have my father alive & safe.

a minor miracle just happened. I clicked to watch this video and my daughter, sitting at the table with me, began to sing. This applies to her perfectly. my humble thanks.

Tears streaming down my face. I am a daughter. And I am a mum of a nearly 15-year-old girl. Heartbreaking. Just know that we in Australia remember too. x

I think it is perfectly acceptable to make a post like this. For Americans we remember that day and we remember where we were and what we were doing. Great video too! 🙂

I can’t believe it has been 10 years. It is still very hard for me to think about that day, I watched the first plane crash into the North Tower from my apartment window in Manhattan.

I thought of you yesterday when I was at the IFB Con. How are you feeling?

You beat me to it! I’m currently working on a post like this. on tuesday I had the opportunity to interview a survivor from the north tower. He was on the 25th floor. Stay tuned. 🙂
