Photoshoot: Caroline Trentini for Elle Brazil

Time for some red-hot inspiration in the form of Caroline Trentini.

I have been so caught up in finishing my Blogger to WordPress tutorial (at one point I felt like I was drowning in it!) that this beautiful photoshoot acted like a fashion lifeline.

Between this shoot and my undying adoration of Christina Hendricks… I am seriously starting to consider going red during my next trip to the salon!

Unfortunately, I wouldn’t look this great even if my hair was red! LOL

We’ll see – I’ll let everyone know what I do end up deciding!

Lovely! She has such a unique body type. She’s thin, sure, but more than anything she’s reeeally long! Her legs and arms go for miles, and you sort of get the feeling that Fábio was worshiping that during the shoot. I love it.

Oh, I went red in the fall of ’08. I wanted something very Alison Sudol (example: http://bit.ly/aDfOns) but I would’ve had to strip my hair to get it that vibrant. In reality it was so dark that you couldn’t really see the red unless it was in the sun. And even to get that I had to really encourage my stylist, haha.

It’s funny you describe her that way. Her shape actually reminds me of one of the contestants on America’s Next Top Model this season. She is the one I mentioned in this post (http://www.beautifully-invisible.com/2010/08/whatever-wednesday-antm-controversy-dvf.html) a while back. She seemed disproportionately tiny in the promos, but in actuality she is just VERY long limbed and somewhat lanky, which is how Caroline appears in this shoot. Strikingly beautiful.

I would love to go as vibrant as Alison Sudol (love her, by the way), but I don’t think I’d want to strip my hair either. Plus, I’ve heard keeping up that vibrant of a red can get VERY pricey. I’ll probably stick to my dark locks, but we’ll see.

Yes! I was actually thinking of that girl with this shoot. I think that shape can make for a spectacular editorial, like this one. It’s just a shame that it translates to “anorexic” to so many people in the industry, just like bigger builds translate to “fat”. Half the time I don’t think there’s really anything wrong with the size of models, the problem is in how people are looking at them.

Definitely, that’s why I didn’t keep the red for much more than eight months. It was just too expensive to keep up with (especially since my hair grows quite fast and I only got a good week or so out of it before the roots showed up). It was fun while it lasted, though!

In the case of the girl from ANTM and Caroline, I think they are both incredibly tall and long-limbed. Depending on what they are wearing or how a photo is taken, they can look almost unnaturally skinny, which is where I think the anorexia comments come in. People don’t take into account build when they make comments like that. I think you are right though – the way people look at models is definitely an issue, but I think it is one that would be remedied if there were more varied body types modeling.

Your comment about the red is making me think I should just stick to dark hair. LOL Much easier (and more affordable) to maintain!

The photographer is listed at the bottom of the post: Fábio Bartelt. I love the feel of this photoshoot – he did a great job!

I can’t decide on the red. One day Y say “yes! I am doing it” and then the next I back out. We’ll see!
